WHAT IS CONSCIOUS SEDATION ?
Conscious sedation is a technique in which the use of a drug or drugs produces a state of depression of the Central Nervous System (CNS) enabling treatment to be carried out, but during which verbal contact with the patient is maintained throughout the period of sedation. The level of sedation must be such that the patient remains conscious, retains protective reflexes, and is able to understand and to respond to verbal commands.
Recent studies show that anxiety remains high: nearly half of patients who have visited a dentist are classified as having moderate or extreme anxiety. Treating highly anxious patients is also a significant source of stress for dental practitioners, and explains why pain and anxiety management is fundamental to dentistry today. Conscious Sedation is one of the most successful techniques available for dealing with this apprehension, not only in dentistry but in many other medical situations that cause anxiety and fear.

WHAT IS AUTO TITRATION?
Auto Titration is the Technique of mixing Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen gases together in predetermined percentage of concentration. Once tidal volume is established , the machine designed to maintain a constant total flow to the patient.
Sedation Unit have separate controls, one regulating the flow of Nitrous Oxide and another controlling oxygen flow to deliver mixed gas.
